pixafe Earth is used to detect names of places of images and the assignment of coordinates to images. If the photographer has a GPS-abled camera or has a geo-tagger e.g. Sony GPS-CS1 the name of the plase where the digital photo was made is quickly identified. But in addition to geographical locations such as country, city, etc. there is often still need to individually defined locations from the consideration of photographers, as the name of acquaintances (at Millers), the workplace, in kindergarten, etc.
And this is precisely when pixafe earth is used: You can define your own locations - using a coordinate from the geotagger and defining the ambit and name. All images which are in the defined circle are named with the name of the user defined location.
pixafe Earth offers more: You can combine hundrets of images with coordinates just by importing the images via a folder. If yor camera is not abslolutely synchron with the global time, you can define the blur (time fram tolerance) or you can adjust the camera times by using a special dialog.
pixafe earth is very easy to use, if you are looking at an image you can see the corrsponding map by only clicking at the map-tab. You can browse the images as well as the coordinates. Here you can also define the step distance between the coordinates you walk through. The lenght of the track is shown as well as the track itself.
Finally pixafe Earth is used to write the coordinates and names of locations directly into the images so that other programs can use this information e.g. the image database pixafe which imports these informations and offers them as selection criteria.
